The wait is finally over for hundreds of aspirants! The High Court of Judicature at Patna (PHC) has officially announced the Patna High Court Stenographer Final Result 2026 for the recruitment process initiated under Advertisement No. PHC/02/2025. This notice, numbered 20 /R&A and dated April 23, 2026, brings the final selection list for candidates who have successfully cleared all stages of the examination, including the written test, shorthand typing, and the personal interview.
Candidates who appeared for the interview and document verification rounds can now check their selection status. The recruitment exercise aimed to fill the prestigious posts of Stenographer in the establishment of the Patna High Court. Out of the total candidates called for the interview, the court has prepared a final panel of 196 qualified candidates, though the actual selection has been made against the available vacancies as per the reservation roster.
The selection process for the Patna High Court Stenographer Final Result 2026 was rigorous. Here are the critical data points from the official notification:
Total Candidates Called for Interview: 210 candidates who met the minimum qualifying standards in the Computer Based Written Test (English Shorthand, MCQ Objective Test, and English Typing) were invited.
Interview Attendance: 203 candidates appeared for the interview, while 7 candidates remained absent.
Final Consideration: After document verification and re-assessment, only 196 candidates were considered for the final result preparation.
Total Selected Candidates: A total of 88 candidates have been selected across various categories.
Panel Validity: The merit list panel of 196 candidates will remain valid for one year from the date of publication.
Initially, 111 vacancies were advertised (including 43 backlog posts). However, during the course of the recruitment, 3 additional posts were created by the order of the Hon’ble Court, bringing the total vacancy to 114. Despite the increase in vacancies, some seats remained unfilled due to the lack of qualified candidates in specific categories like SC, ST, and OH.

*Note: 3 posts in the UR category were earmarked for OH candidates, but since no OH candidate qualified, these 3 seats have been kept vacant and carried forward to the next recruitment cycle.
The court has released the category-wise cut-off marks for the final selection. These marks are calculated based on the combined performance in the Written Test and the Interview. In cases where two candidates secured equal marks, the candidate with higher marks in the written test was ranked higher. If the written marks were also equal, the older candidate was given preference.

Categories where no candidates qualified or where no replacement was required to meet female quotas do not have displayed cut-offs in the official notice.
During the Document Verification (DV) stage, the Patna High Court identified 11 candidates who failed to produce valid Non-Creamy Layer (NCL) certificates or had entered incorrect category details. These candidates were re-assessed under the Unreserved (UR) category. Upon re-assessment, 7 of these candidates failed to qualify for the written test standards required for the UR category, and consequently, their earlier selection was cancelled.
